| Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to examine the pioneering thought on restructuring community expounded by Edward Carpenter (1844～1929).who examined the problems occurring in the modern civilized society of Britain. The papers of this study focused on three points of the thought of Carpenter
1）the basis of endogenous developing
2)restructuring of voluntary community
3)the value orientation by Ruskin.
