Research Abstract |
I researched on the ways of publishing/distributing of translated Manga in abroad, such as China (including Hong-Kong)/ Korea / Thailand / Vietnams / Indonesia / Singapore, France/ Germany / Italy, & U.S.A.. Through this research, I found that especially in Asia, most of Manga and comics are sold in newsstands, not in bookstores. But, educational comics are sold in bookstores in almost all countries. In Asia, They prefer Manga with complete stories such as “Doraemon” or “Detective Conan” to serial stories. I suppose it’s because they can’t easily get back numbers of serial comics in bookstores.
