Research Abstract |
This project of Hermeneutical and Quasi-religious Strategies in Modern Art examines how the European avant-garde artists in the beginning of the twentieth century have extensively adapted the esoteric discourses on alchemy, kabbalah, magic and theosophy to their artistic expression of quasi-religious ideas including transmutation and transcendence.
