| Research Abstract |
In this research, Focusing on the costal area of Fujian province in the early twentieth century where cultural exchanges with foreign countries by the private sector were well developed, I have studied social or cultural changes which were originated by Emigration to South East Asia or acceptance of Christianity.
In order to accomplish this study, I carried out field works at Gutian county and Putian county in Fujian province China where many emigrants occurred. Furthermore I also visited to Sarawak on east Malaysia and conducted interviews with elderly Chinese people.
