| Research Abstract |
In this study, I discussed social contestations and politics in the 1300th anniversary events of Nara Heijo-kyo Capital, and cleared social, cultural, political and economic dimensions in this events. I focused especially on three sociological problems. The problems are (1) ‘“Japan” in relation with Asia’, (2) ‘Tourist gazes for “Nara”’, (3) ‘Local mascot character vitalizing community’.
