Research Abstract |
The purpose of study was to clarify tutorfunctions in an initial discussion processof problem-based learning for 1stgrade university students and to address the roles of tutors. As a result,It was also found that tutorfunctions included progressing discussions, monitoring students, enhancing students’reflective thinking, making students’thinking externally, modeling discussionand thinking methods. It was newly clarified that tutorfunctions in an initial discussion stage of problem-based learningwere assisting studentsto experience intellectual conflictsand to overcome those conflicts to gain thinking forms.
