Research Abstract |
We studied how environmental factors in early life stage affectemotional brain functions by using electrophysiological, neurochemical and behavioralscience techniques. Psychologically stressful environments alter receptor functions tomonoamines and/or amino acids or responsiveness to them. Expression levels of GIRK2 and5-HT1Areceptor were not affected. Short but repeated maternal isolation tended to increaseaggressive behavior. Environmental natural sounds such as sounds of a stream protectedfrom the effects observed at single neuron level of short but repeated maternal isolation.
