| Research Abstract |
好中球エラスターゼ阻害薬を慢性喘息モデルに投与することにより、好中球エラスターゼが気道過敏性の亢進および気道炎症において極めて重要な役割を果たしていることを明らかにし、「Inhibition of neutrophil elastase attenuates airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation in a mouse model of secondary allergen challenge」としてRespiratory Researchに、また好中球性気道炎症の機序において重要なサイトカインであるIL-17についてIL-17欠損マウスを用いて検討し、IL-17が肺気腫の病態に非常に重要な役割を果たしていることを「IL-17A is essential to the development of elastase-induced pulmonary inflammation and emphysema in mice」としてRespiratory Researchに発表した。
選択的ロイコトリエン受容体拮抗薬であるモンテルカストが，近年著明に増加している肺気腫合併喘息における好酸球性および好中球性気道炎症、またこれらに起因する気道および肺組織の障害に対する有意な抑制効果を有することを世界で始めて明らかとし、Am J Respir Cell Mol Biolに、「Effect of a Cysteinyl Leukotriene Receptor Antagonist on Experimental Emphysema and Asthma Combined with Emphysema」として報告した。
