Research Abstract |
The reverse-transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) method is a rapid, accurate and easy to use molecular amplifying diagnostic method which has been used for diagnosis of various infectious diseases. We are trying to develop an ambient diagnostic system for pediatric viral pneumonia using a panel of RT-LAMP reactions together with a concise nucleic acid extraction method. This system has the potential to be used as a simple tool for rapid laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases in basic diagnostic facilities in resource limited settings, even in a disaster affected area.
