Research Abstract |
To establish induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell line derived from brain tumor, NANOG promoter-GFP, SOX2, KLF4 and OCT3/4 genes were introduced into glioma cells. After the induction of iPS cells, alkaline phosphatase-positive clones were appeared but failed to grow continuously. This result suggests that altered or mutated genes in glioma cells might be required for genome reprogramming and maintenance of pluripotency in embryonic stem-like cells.
