Research Abstract |
Purpose: The aim of this study was toclarifythe structure of information avoiding inteenagers’diagnosed withcancer.Method:A grounded theory approach was utilized. Data was generated through interviews withnine teenagers and young adults who experienced cancer treatment.Results: Informational avoidance categories were found to be:‘Information obtaining to their body’, ‘keeping hope’, and ‘concentrating ontaking one day at a time’. The category of ‘Information obtaining to their body’was subdivided into “suffering”, “chemotherapyas a dailylifeprocess”, and “feeling OK with my body.”
