Research Abstract |
Two experiments were conducted in order to examine the effect of music listening on mental and physical states, when the music is listened to by a subject under a condition involving experimentally induced mental stress. These experiments showed that listening to music reduced the mental stress promptly in comparison with non-music control condition. Music listening had a similar effect on physiological stresses as on psychological stresses, in regards that it reduced constantly the levels of these two sides of stresses.
