Research Abstract |
In this research, we showed that 25-hydroxyvitamin D[ 25(OH) D] itself has biological effects. The effects of 25(OH) D did not require its activation to 1, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D[ 1, 25(OH)_2D]. Our results suggested that 25(OH) D directly activates vitamin D receptor(VDR). Moreover, 25(OH) D modulated the functions of lipid raft.
