Research Abstract |
This research project tries to figure out the social and cultural organization of a fruit and vegetable market in southern France, and its transformation in recent years. The results of fieldwork show that the farmers have a set of values that can be characterized as 'individualiste', based on their day-to-day practices on market. And the farmers criticize the globalization which provoked recent market crisis , from their moral criteria. This case study shows that a dichotomous view which oppose 'global civil society' to globalism is not sufficient, and that we need to theorize the plurality of moral judgment toward the globalization.
