Research Abstract

This research project elucidate how Japan tried to changed the regional economic order in 1910s to 1930s, through the example of Southward strategy of the Bank of Taiwan. This research project makes clear that how the newly rising power in the region, the Japanese Empire, faced economic conflicts between western powers in South East Asia, and gave influences to the changed regional order in the Early Twentieth Century.
