Research Abstract |
Here, we examined the long-term changes in positive automatic thoughts in positive situations, from a preventive perspective. In a preliminary study, we used a free description method with undergraduate participants to collect and classify situations and events in which positive and negative automatic thoughts occur. In a6-month longitudinal study with undergraduate participants, we found that positive automatic thoughts had both positive and negative effects on future depression.
