Research Abstract |
A Bostonian architect, Ralph Adams Cram, proposed three architectural projects to Japan. Tsuda College project is the last one. The original drawings are lost but some reproductions are kept in the Cram and Ferguson Office. These are the precious historical materials which show Cram’ s consistent use of the Japanese architectural style as well as Art Deco detail. Cram’ s basic concept of plot plan interestingly remains in the actual Sato Koichi’ s campus.
