Research Abstract |
We previously mapped the fatty liver susceptible locus (fl1sa) on mouse chromosome 12 by using SMXA-5, a mouse model for fatty liver induced by a high-fat diet feeding. We searched a responsible gene causing the fatty liver . In this study, we found that one candidate gene suppress the triglyceride synthesis in hepatocytes. This result suggests that the candidate gene coding protein is a new molecule regulating hepatic lipid metabolism.
