Research Abstract |
Innate immune response is essential for the protection against viral infection, such as novel flu or Hepatitis C virus. We have previously isolated a novel protein, Riplet. We constructed Riplet deficient mice and examined its phenotype. We found that Riplet is essential for type I interferon production, which possesses strong antiviral activity, in response to viral infection in vivo.
