Research Abstract |
We have developed a strategy for targeting sodium borocaptate in melanoma boron neutron capture therapy. The boron-retention capacity of boron formulations was very high. All boborocaptate-loaded nanoparticles had no cytotoxic effects. Hyaluronan-Conjugated nanoparticles readily bound to melanoma cells, and were internalized by receptor-mediated endocytosis. Thermal neutron irradiation yielded tumor growth suppression on B16F10 murine melanoma and COLO679 human melanoma with the Hyaluronan-Conjugated nanoparticles.
