| Research Abstract |
Dyspnea shares some common features with pain, but an individual's pain perception is shown to be unpredictable from an individual's dyspnea perception in healthy young subjects. The sensation of air hunger and the sensation of work/effort, which are different forms of dyspnea, seem to alleviate pain perception induced by cold-pressor test.
