Research Abstract

We observed mRNA and protein expression of the vesicular glutamate transporters(VGluTs) in trigeminal mesencephalic nucleus and trigeminal ganglion. In the peripheral nervous system, The mechanoreceptors in the orofacial region express VGluT1 subtype. Using electron microscopic analysis, vesicular like structure in mechanoreceptors represented VGluT1 expression
