Research Abstract |
The reclining posture was reported as helpful to feed patient with dysphagia. But we sometimes observe more aspiration in reclining posture rather than upright posture. Therefore, we investigated the effect of reclining posture on swallowing pressure. In result, resting pressure of upper esophageal sphincter increased by reclining posture. Effect of gravity was possible to disturb successful opening of upper esophageal sphincter.
