Research Abstract |
We demonstrate flow regulation powered by a stalk of Vorticella. We introduced Vorticella into a channel and caused the stalks to contract and extend by changing calcium ion concentration. The extended cells transformed the flow through the channel, which shows the controllability of a flow rate.
