Research Abstract |
We hypothesized that caveolin may regulate the GlcCer synthase activity. We developed a cell-based assay of GlcCer synthase activity to verify our hypothesis. This assay revealed that caveolin is probably not a regulator of GlcCer synthase. We discovered that the energy sensor AMPK regulates the cellular GlcCer level.
