| Research Abstract |
The age related hearing impairment is one of the most important problems of the aging society. To investigate the age related hearing impairment, we paid attention to mitochondrial DNA SNPs that thought to be related to aging. We performed systemic mutational analysis of mtDNA in 384 Japanese patients with hearing loss, and detected 2 novel pathogenic mitochondrial variants.
