Summary of the Research Project

海洋での採餌と巣のある島での雛への給餌を繰り返す海鳥であるオオミズナギドリをモデル種として、動物の採餌行動に関する限界値の定理がオオミズナギドリで成り立つかどうか、成り立たないとすると、それはなぜなのかを先端的なバイオロギング技術を駆使して解明しようとするものである。

Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

動物生態学では採餌行動に関する理論は中心的な課題の一つであり、研究の意義は非常に高いと認められる。また、独自のフィールド、高いバイオロギング技術、生理情報収集システムを駆使した研究により意義ある成果が得られることが十分期待される。
