Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では貴金属ないスピントロニクステラヘルツエミッターを開発することを目的としている。2022年度としては、Ni上のグラフェン(G/Ni)のスピン輸送を理論手法によって調べ、実験的にG/Niの試料を作製することを目指した。 理論的には、密度汎関数理論とスピン軌道結合 (DFT+SOC) という定式化されたモデルを用いて、ラシュバ係数とその結果のスピン-電荷変換係数の計算に成功した。 実験的に、G/Ni 試料は、電子ビーム蒸着を用いてSiC 基板上に作成することができた。

Reason

研究成果の概要で述べたように、2022 年度の研究目標は、理論的アプローチによる G/Ni のスピン輸送 (特にスピン-電荷変換メカニズム))の研究であり、 実験的な方法によるそのG/Niの試料の作製は計画どおりに達成された。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2023 年度に向けて、実験的に、G/Ni試料はX 線回折 (XRD)、X 線光電子分光法 (XPS) などを用いて特徴付けられる予定である。理論的にスピン輸送 (スピン電流)を ab-initio 法(つまり、タイトバインディング法))によって計算する。これらの2つの実験的および理論的研究は、2023 年度のTHz放射(計算及び測定)の前提研究である。
