Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題では、IoTを実現するための自律分散型フォグコンピューティング(DFC)モデルで消費される電力量[J]の低減を目指している。初年度では、1)フォグノードで応用プロセスを実行したときの消費電力を与える電力消費(PC: Power Consumption)モデルと、実行時間を与える計算(CM: Computation)モデルを明らかにした。フォグノードとして、Raspberry Piを考え実験を行い、消費電力を実測し、実測データを解析することにより、ノードの電力消費に最も影響を与えるパラメータを求め抽象化し、PCモデルとCMモデルを明らかにした。次いで、2) PCとCMモデルを基に、デバイス、フォグノード、サーバの各種ノードでの処理、通信で消費される電力量と実行時間を与えることができるシミュレータを研究開発した。3) IoTの様な大規模システムでは、全構成ノードの集中管理は、負荷、信頼性等の点で困難であるので、本研究課題では、各フォグノードが互いに自律的に協調動作を行うDFCモデルとして、FTBFC(Flexible Tree-based FC)モデルを提案した。フォグノード間の親子関係とセンサデータを処理するプロセスとを、消費電力量を低減するように、柔軟にを変化させるモデルを考案し、評価を行った。4) アクセス権限のないフォグノードが、デバイスのセンサデータを不正に処理、獲得してしまう可能性がある。フォグノード間での不正な情報流を防止するために、ケーパビリティベースアクセス制御(CBAC)モデルを研究した。
研究代表者は1), 2), 3)の研究を担当し、研究分担者(中村)は1)と4)を担当した。「物品経費」として、実験データの整理、アルゴリムの開発、評価に利用するPCを購入した。「その他の経費」を用いて、研究成果を国際会議で14件、国際論文誌論文2件を発表した。

Reason

本研究課題では、IoTを有効に実現するためのフォグコンピューティング(FC)モデルの電力消費量を低減することを目的としている。このために、研究の基礎となるフォグノードの電力消費(PC)モデルと計算(CM)モデルを明らかにした。さらに、これを用いて、FCモデルの低電力化についてのモデル、アルゴリズムを評価するためのシミュレータの開発を行った。申請者等がこれまでに研究してきた木構造フォグコンピューティング(TBFC: Tree-Based FC)モデルを動的に変更できるFTBFC(Flexible TBFC)モデルを新たに考案した。さらに、FCモデルのデバイスノードのアクセス制御モデルとして、ケーパビリティベースのCABC(Capability-based access control)モデルを考案し、デバイスノード、ユーザ、フォグノード間の情報流制御を研究した。これらの成果は、当初の研究計画通りである。
初年度の予算の中で、当初購入予定の備品を研究室の備品を使うことにより、1,991円が未使用となったが、次年度で消耗品購入に使用予定である。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

初年度の研究成果を基にして、まず、1) フォグコンピューティング(FC)モデルの消費電力量と実行時間を与えるPCモデルとMCモデルの改良を行う。これまでのモデルでは、ノード内のプロセスは逐次的に実行されるものとしていたが、複数プロセスが並行して実行するモデルを考える。さらに、種々のデバイス、フォグノードに対応できるように発展させる。2) デバイスノードで生成されるセンサデータ量の変化と、フォグノードの障害に対して、センサデータの処理を有効に行える必要がある。このために、フォグノード間の関係を各フォグノードが自律的に柔軟に変化させるモデルを明らかにする。3)初年度開発したFCモデルのシミュレータを改良する。特に、大規模IoTのFCモデルをシミュレートできるように改良を行う。4) IoTでは、デバイスノードを不正アクセスから守ることが重要である。分散型FC(DFC)モデルの、デバイスノードに対する不正アクセスを防止するためのCABCモデルを初年度で研究したが、これを基に、フォグノードにも適用できるCABCモデルを研究する。これを用いて、デバイスノード、フォグノード、アプリケーション間での不正情報流の防止モデルを研究する。
研究成果を論文としてまとめ、国際論文誌、国際会議に積極的に投稿し、発表を行う予定である。

Causes of Carryover

今年度の使用予定の消耗品は、研究室にあるもので代用したために残金1,991円が生じた。残金については、第二年度で消耗品として使用予定である。
