Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study has found out that some resultative phrases are associated with multiple senses, by examining the semantic nature of them or words within them.It has also been turned out that verbs can be given subtly different interpretations, depending on the polysemy of the resultative phrases with which they occur. It is thus suggested that there exist interpretive ways in which verbs fill in the details of a frame element in the frame evoked by a resultative phrase, or verbs compatible with the knowledge in the frame are selecetd.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
