Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a mass of fibrin containing high concentrations of growth factors and is expected to promote healing in various pathological conditions due to its excellent sustained release properties. We aimed to directly evaluate PRF on meniscal defects in animal models and to identify its effects on meniscal cells and synovial stem cells, which play an important role in tendon repair, as well as its signalling pathways. We found that PRF promoted meniscal fine injury healing compared to the Control and FC groups and activated proliferation of meniscal cells via FGF receptor/Akt signalling.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
