Project Period (FY) 2022-04-01 – 2024-03-31
Keywords
Outline of Final Research Achievements

Analysis of intervertebral disc tissue collected from patients with amyloidosis revealed the possibility of increased amyloid deposition in comparison with healthy subjects. In addition, amyloidosis patients have a higher incidence of intervertebral disc injury adjacent to fixation compared to healthy subjects, which is a complication of lumbar spine surgery. We believe that postoperative follow-up should be done with caution in patients with amyloidosis.

Free Research Field

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
