Ultra-sensitive biomagnetic sensor based on spin wave quantum interference and stochastic resonance information processing

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

(1)スピン波量子干渉素子による高感度化磁気検出
スピン波干渉を用いた超高感度磁気センサを実証した。代表的なスピン波伝搬材料であるガーネット鉄酸化物Y3Fe5O12:YIGの固有雑音が、理論的見積もりから室温において10-15T/√Hz(γ, V, Mは磁気回転比,磁性体の体積,磁化)であり、SQUIDの310×10-15T/√Hzに匹敵することを明らかにした。
またNiimiらのデータ(Phys. Rev. Lett., 2015)を参考に、スピン波干渉素子の理論上の磁場感度はattoT(10-18 T)と見積もられた。これらの知見をもとにPLD非平衡材料合成手法により、フェリ磁性誘電体(ガーネット型鉄酸化物Re3Fe5O12(Re:希土類)薄膜およびスピネル型鉄酸化物((TM,Fe)3O4)(TM:遷移金属)を形成し、スピン波(スピン角運動量)干渉素子を作製して磁気検出を実施した。その結果、既存の磁気センサ(ホール素子や磁気トンネル抵抗素子)と異なり、電子輸送が伴わないためジュール熱損が無く熱雑音が低減し、nTレベルの高感度スピンの検出に成功した。

(2)微弱なスピン情報を常温環境で検出するため、生体システムに学んだ情報処理原理(確率共鳴原理)を取り入れた高感度検出機能を設計した。環境ゆらぎである熱雑音と同レベルの低エネルギーで確率的に動作する情報処理を行っており、 この発想による超高感度センサのデバイス設計を実施した。

研究計画に沿って研究・実験を進めており、おおむね順調に進展していると考えられるため。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

(1)今年度得られた、ジュール熱 (熱ノイズ)発生が無いスピン波用いた、スピン波干渉によるnTレベルの磁気検出感度を、素子構造の最適化によりさらなる向上を目指す。
(2)生物系システムが活用している環境(熱ゆらぎ)エネルギーを積極利用することで信号/雑音比増強を可能とする、確率共鳴原理に基づくスピン検出を試みる。
(3)フォノン励起による共鳴現象相乗効果(フォノン-マグノン励起)によるスピン高感度化に挑戦する。
一般に腹部や胎児エコー診断に用いられている超音波(k~MHz)/音響波照射を併用し、音響フォノンによる圧力変調で誘起された細胞や組織の構造変化に呼応した磁気モーメントの変化を検出する。(細胞や組織、臓器を構成する生体材料(コラーゲンやアクチンフィラメント等)の分子結晶構造は空間反転対称性が破れており、誘電および磁気テンソルの非対角項が存在するため、構造変化誘起の電気的、磁気的信号変調が期待できる。)生体構成の60%以上を構成する水に関わる、分子間結合振動および水和振動の周波数帯域(M~GHz)の電磁波を用いることで、共鳴する振動モードを励起し、複数を共鳴重畳した複合機能(タンデム型)磁気検出により、fT(10-15)からaT(10-18)レベルの超高感度化を目指す。

経費削減により予定より実験等にかかる費用が少なくできた。
2024年度は2023年度に引き続き、スピン波量子干渉素子構造の最適化および確率共鳴処理による高感度化磁気検出研究を実施する。
