Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have established a reliable and reproducible synthetic route for TEQ. TEQ formed a series of metal complexes; Zn(II) complex acquired strongly emissive property and Fe(II) complex served as a highly efficient oxidation catalyst, which can be prospected to a new class of catalyst architecture for asymmetric oxidation reactions. The isomeric form of TEQ which features distinct quinoline connectivity was also synthesized. The research culminated in the development of a new three-dimensional L2X2 type ligand, I2Q2, composed of two each of indole and quinoline units.
