Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research project, an extensive number of DNA constructs were systematically constructed to develop novel strategies for assessing the state of DNA repair in cultured cells and tumor tissues. Using these constructs, we have succeeded in rapidly detecting the cellular status of homologous recombination and mismatch repair, which act as guardians of the human genome.

DNA修復機構の異常は悪性腫瘍全体の25%以上にみられる。本研究の成果は、特定の悪性腫瘍におけるDNA修復の状態を正確に判定するための基盤技術となり、適切な化学療法を選択するための正しい判断基準の提供につながると期待できる。
