Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The results of this research project were presented at the 76th Conference of Japan Art History of Society and 2023 International Congress on Medieval Studies. The case study on the Adornes Family Chapel will be published as a chapter of the co-written book from Brepols Publisher in 2024. The new joint research was launched with researchers on Byzantine architecture, Ethiopian architecture, and Budhist culture. Currently the author is writting a book on Hierotopy in early Netherlandish art, especially focusing on Jan van Eyck's art.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
従来ビザンチン美術の枠組みにおいて用いられてきた理論を、初期ネーデルラント美術に応用し、聖なる原型の複製が、世俗空間を唯一無二の聖なる空間に変換するために果たした固有の役割について、複数の事例研究を通し分析・解明した。神聖空間の理論の普及に貢献し、時代・地域を超えた本理論の有効性を国内外に発信した。神聖空間の理論の普及のため、国際シンポジウムの開催と共著の刊行を計画している。
