Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, the historical character of local influential figures(Dogo) during the Sengoku period was analysed in the fields of Oyamato-Gou, Isshi-gun, Ise Province and Kuchino-Gou, Sunto-gun, Suruga Province. As a result, the following findings were obtained. (1) The local authorities(Dogo) in the Oyamato-Gou were autonomous small lords who developed their own private territorial control. They realised a legal order for resolving territorial disputes between native landowners(Dogo) in a judgmental and consensual manner, in which the characteristics of Ikki-like regional power are strongly expressed. (2) The Uematsu clan, a native of Kuchino Gou in the pre-mid-Sengoku period, was a self-reliant entity that ruled its own territory and people, and this character was not breached by the Kunishu power (the Kazurayama clan). However, they later lost their autonomy under the influence of the Sengoku daimyo power (the Hojo clan).

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
