Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Main achievements:
1) Did two several-week-long ethnographic fieldwork sessions. These helped me learn about the changes in Kachin society, environmental issues, and the broader region during and after COVID and Burma's military-political crisis; 2) Began the transcription/translation of field interview recordings; 3) Wrote and submitted two manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals; 4) Gave talks and participated in four research workshops/conferences, gave a keynote talk at one international workshop, and co-organized one research workshop, on such topics as hydro-politics, violence, and grassroots environmentalism.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Research has been progressing well, thanks to a supportive working environment.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I plan to continue the research largely according to the original project plan. Work for the next year will include more fieldwork, analysing existing interviews and fieldnotes, participating in 1-2 upcoming conferences/workshops, and writing manuscripts.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The left-over is savings to be used for research costs during this coming year.
