Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research demonstrates that the EU has pursued integration not only on economic grounds but also through the promotion of shared values. The creation of a “we” image has been a long-term strategy in the EU. However, the framing of an “us versus them” narrative has similarly been employed by far-right parties, leading to significant disruptions during the crises of the 2010s. Additionally, the study reveals that while the EU has been promoting the political participation of minorities as part of constructing this “we” image since the 2010s, it has not sought substantial political impact from their participation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
