Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This study investigates the causal impact of retirement on health and behavior in Japan. The current status of the paper is that the data analysis has been completed, though additional tests and other robustness are still required. The baseline draft has also been completed and submitted to conference for presentation. One conference is the Western Economic Association International happening in San Diego July 2023. The paper will be submitted to other conferences, such as Econometric Society or australian and asian labor economics. After which, the paper will be submitted to economic and social science journals for publishing.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
It is progressingly at a slower pace that I thought it will be. One thing is the unexpected amount of teaching I had the first quarter of the 2023 Spring. Moreover, other rejected paper from previous years required additional revision to resubmit which are also causing a delay. Overall, the works from multiple unexpected and expected sources have delayed the project.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
As I mentioned before, I planned to submit the papers to journals. For other future work, I plan to further extend the analysis to examing more onjective biomarker outcomes or alternative health outcomes that can obtained from other datasets like nutrient and health surveys from comprehensive living conditions survey or other related datasets. Moreover, I wish to further understand the mechanisms mediating the relationship. This will be another future work.

Causes of Carryover |
Next year, the money will be used to pay for conference, such as travelling fee and conference regiseration fee. I will also used the grant for journal submission fees and/or article processing charges for some journals. Finally, the grant will also be used for english editing and conference membership as well. At current stage, there were no plans to buy and/or obtain datasets given my co-athour has accessed to these datasets.
