Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to identify the care burden and employment transformation process of mothers living with a severely disabled person requiring constant care who used after-school day care services. I interviewed and analyzed 10 mothers and found that mothers connect their limited services to their daughters' and sons' post-high school graduation and also adjust their work when possible. However, they also need to readjust their jobs in conjunction with their children's use of services, and as a result, they cannot afford to live and work. However, the mothers were shown the process of giving up on their way to work, but continuing to work. In conclusion, the study suggested the expansion of post-graduation day-care services over time and the establishment of post-graduation services to support the lives of severely disabled persons without the mothers giving up their desired ways of working.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
