Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study explores the process by which edu-businesses expand across borders and disseminate their educational services, as well as how users accept these services. It focuses on three key aspects: (1) the stories about educational service used by these companies, (2) the translation of these stories into local contexts, and (3) the transformation of individual learning as an impact of the stories. The methodology includes semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions involving employees, lecturers, and learners of edu-businesses operating in urban Indonesia. Through this approach, the study seeks to understand the characteristics of alternative edu-businesses that expand without relying on economic or political dominance, from the users’ perspective.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
