Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to develop a sense of risk by analyzing the nursing practices of students in their on-site training and noticing problems from the perspective of patient (client) safety.Six students who had a sense of "hiyat" or "huh" were interviewed, and eight scenes were obtained. The root cause analysis method extracted 86 "event" behaviors, 131 "why" questions, 103 "root cause candidates," and 8 "root causes."The "root cause" arose from the "human factor." It was inferred that this scene arose from the flow of events, in which not only the actions of the students, but also the intentions of the nurses who were present and the thoughts of the patients were intricately intertwined. In addition, it is important to consider it as a valuable experience that allowed us to become aware of problems.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

1999年の患者取り違え手術事故以来、安全管理への対策が講じられている。安全管理とは、看護行為に際して、安全を確保するために行うマネジメントである。すべての看護職の責務であり、1人ひとりの看護職が安全管理に関わる必要があることを意味する。
看護基礎教育においても、同様に、将来看護職となる看護学生の臨地実習における「ヒヤッ」としたり「ハッ」としたりしたリスクを感じた場面を分析し、発生原因・発生過程を明らかにすることは、実践力の習得を妨げない、学生と患者(利用者)の双方の安全を確保した臨地実習における教育方法の知見を得ることができるという点で、意義がある。
