Outline of Final Research Achievements

The present research aimed to examine the lower-order structure of Conscientiousness and its associations with social outcome variables. In Study 1, we developed a list of 162 conscientious behaviors through a questionnaire survey of university students. In Study 2, we examined the lower-order structure of Conscientiousness and associations between facets of Conscientiousness and academic performance, health, and occupational attainment. The results suggested that Conscientiousness has seven facets. Additionally, the pattern of associations with social outcome variables differed depending on the specific facets. Given that Conscientiousness is noted as a "non-cognitive skill," we hope to explore educational interventions and policies targeting facets of Conscientiousness in the future.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
