Project Period (FY) 2022-08-31 – 2024-03-31
Outline of Final Research Achievements

Although excessive fat intake induces obesity, the mechanism is not elucidated in detail. In this present study, we focused on linoleic acid, which is a substrate for the synthesis of inflammatory mediators.
High linoleic acid(HLA) diet-fed mice gained more weight than low linoleic acid(LLA) diet-fed mice. Prostaglandin E2 content and gene expression of inflammatory markers in the hypothalamus were increased in HLA-fed mice compared with LLA-fed mice.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
