Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) secrete small extracellular vesicles (sEVs), mainly exosomes, and are known to contribute to tissue repair by transmitting information between cells. MSCs have attracted attention as a regenerative medicine for musculoskeletal tissues such as rotator cuff tears. In this field, different sEVs secreted by MSCs under different culture conditions have not been evaluated. In this study, it was revealed that sEVs secreted by MSCs preconditioned with IFN-γ had altered secretion amount and protein composition compared to normal sEVs.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
近年,肩腱板断裂に対して,関節鏡を用いた修復術の発展により低侵襲治療が可能となってきたが,実際には20%程度の頻度で再断裂を合併し,術後の肩安静固定期間が数ヶ月に及んでいる現状がある.本研究で得られた研究成果は,今後臨床現場においても質の良い腱板の短期的な修復の新たな知見になると考えられる.
