Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In recent years, the demand for dental implants as a treatment method for tooth defects has increased. However, non-resorbable artificial bone replacement materials are at risk of infection owing to long-term residual use, and there is a need for a bone replacement material that can replace autogenous bone. In this study, we focused on a bone grafting material composed mainly of carbonate apatite as an artificial material with a composition similar to that of autologous bone, and created a model of implant placement with GBR to investigate the control of resorption. β-TCP was found to have the best reactivity in the early course of 14 days after implantation of various bone grafting materials, and new bone began to replace the space between the existing bone and bone grafting material.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
