Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This year research achievement are : (a) Development of pH conversion model Debye-Huckel-Onsager formula has been developed using electrical and mechanical equivalent phantom (b) Gastric Electrical Impedance Tomography Suit (gEIT) suit has been manufactured to measure gastric content volume in healthy Subjects combined with mini-EIT hardware (c) Clinical trial in Chiba University hospital has been performed in 8 healthy subjects. Published papers: During this year, 3 international Journal has been published PH Conversion Model based on gastric Electrical Impedance Tomography(Sensors Actuators B Chemical Journal), Clinical trial of gEIT(Nature Scientific Report) and Object Oriented Sensitivity Matrix Model (Journal of Electrical Bio Impedance Journal). Under review papers: During this year 5 papers are still under review, which are:(a) Phase Angle EIT (b) Clustering-Updated Sensitivity matrix for Cell Imaging (c) Multi-node Electrical Impedance Tomography (d) Coupling of Electromagnetic Simulation and Electrical Impedance Tomography (ES-EIT) (e) Hybrid of Electrical Muscle Stimulation and Voluntary Resistance Training by Electrical Impedance Tomography. Graduated Students under this Project: R.Wicaksono (PhD Student), K. Sakai (Master Student) and Fujimori (Bachelor Student)

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
This year will be planned to implement the stage (3) Integration of gEIT and clinical trial in Chiba University Hospital. The research plan are: (a) Fabrication of gEIT suit for human clinical trial in Chiba University Hospital.(b) Accuracy evaluation of gastric content volume visualization between gEIT and Abdomen Ultrasound.(c) Accuracy evaluation of gastic emptying process between gEIT and 13 C Breath Test. We already finished the plan (a) Fabrication of gEIT suit for human clinical trial in Chiba University Hospital and (b) Accuracy evaluation of gastric content volume visualization between gEIT and Abdomen Ultrasound. the results is published in [1] K. Sakai, P. N. Darma, P. A. Sejati, R. Wicaksono, H. Hayashi, and M. Takei, “Gastric functional monitoring by gastric electrical impedance tomography (gEIT) suit with dual-step fuzzy clustering,” Sci Rep, vol. 13, no. 1, p. 514, 2023. Corresponding Author. part of the result will be presented in 23rd international conference of Bio Electrical Impedance Tomography (BIO EIT 2023) in Aachen Germany

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Now, we are focussing on (c) Accuracy evaluation of gastic emptying process between gEIT and 13 C Breath Test in collaboration with Chiba University Hospital. Furthermore we will prepare the presentation for 23rd international conference of Bio Electrical Impedance Tomography (BIO EIT 2023) in Aachen Germany from 12th-14th June 2023 and The 4th International Conference and Exhibition on Powder Technology Indonesia in Bali Indonesia from 21-22 August 2023. We will also visit t2i Lab at University of Bergen Norway to talk about research collaboration to combine gastric EIT and Virtual/Augmented Reality. We hope, from the conferences we will obtain meaningful feedback from the experts over the world. We are also preparing JST A-Step proposal in collaboration with Prof. Matsumura and Prof. Hayashi from Chiba University Hospital in order to commercialized the gastric Electrical Impedance Tomography. Furthermore, we are also making a JSPS international proposal in order to propose gastric EIT to solve social problem in indonesia. related with this JSPS international proposal we are trying to collaborate with medical department of gadjah mada university (UGM) Indonesia, we are planning to visit indonesia in August 2023.
