Co-Investigator(Kenkyū-buntansha) HENSH SUDIPTA  大阪大学, 学内共同利用施設等, 外国人特別研究員
Project Period (FY) 2023-03-08 – 2025-03-31
KeywordsNeutron stars / Equations of state
Outline of Annual Research Achievements

In the past academic year, we have performed, on two supercomputers at different locations, tens of simulations of binary neutron star mergers, with different equations of state. We have collected, cataloged, and analyzed the data, in order to extract relevant frequencies in the spectra and other quantities of physical and observational importance. This allowed us to draw interesting and new conclusions on how one may obtain information on the equation of state from gravitational wave data originated, in particular, after the merger of these systems.

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

We have almost completed the first part of the proposed project, which will soon lead to a publication.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

The second main topic has been left partly aside. The fellow will concentrate more on that in the remaining months.
