| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究の最終年度（外国人研究者の滞在は延長した結果1月上旬まで）の研究は、当初計画どおり達成された。その具体的成果として、南極研究の学際的雑誌最高峰、Antarctic Science誌に、Zia Madani研究員との共著論文「国際法、気候変動、そして南極ガバナンス」( International law, climate change and the Antarctic Treaty System: re-contemplating governance questions apropos of the mounting challenges. Antarctic Science, 1-16 (October 2023))が公表され、各方面から多くの反響が寄せられている。また、滞在期間を延長した結果、Elgar Encyclopedia on Polar Law（2024年秋発刊予定）に、Madani研究との共著エントリー「南極条約協議国会議」の執筆を終え、編集者による査読の結果、掲載が決定された。
Madani研究員は、その他、本研究課題に係わる研究を独自に進め、6月にはノルウェーで開催された国際セミナーに参加し、国内においても精力的に資料収集、情報収集、そしてネットワーク拡大に努めた。その成果の一部として、ネット専門雑誌であるDiplomat誌に、ニュージーランドの南極ガバナンス研究者との共著、Zia Madani and Alan D. Hemmings, Will Iran Set up a Base in Antarctica?-What is driving Iran’s interest in Antarctica, and how realistic are its ambitions?. THE DIPLOMAT, October 2023を発表した。
